Reinders has been involved in a number of projects with Jefferson Matters: Main Street and is one of two consultants who conduct a design consultation for a Main Street district nuilding.
Building owners who have received design conceptuals through Main Street Iowa in the past year include Unger Insurance, RVP~1875, Doc’s Stadium, Sparetime Lanes, Jefferson public library, and Ace Hardware. Buildings acquired by the city of Jefferson have also had conceptual drawings completed – 200 E. State, 111 E Lincoln Way and 205 N Wilson.
With these conceptual drawings, recommendations for window restoration or replacement along with façade improvements, color choices, ADA accessibility, signage, etc. are included. This free consultation is available to any Main Street district building. To date, 19 downtown buildings have received this assistance.
Jefferson Matters: Main Street program director Peg Raney shared that the high interest in façade improvement led to working with the city of Jefferson on the Community Development Block Grant that was awarded for 16 facades. Construction on these will begin in spring of 2017.
All interested are invited to attend this Business After Hours educational event sponsored by the design committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street.
